Eisenberg Research Finds Eviction Rates in Detroit Are Rising Again

Post-doctoral research fellow Alexa Eisenberg

A team of researchers at The University of Michigan, including Poverty Solutions post-doctoral research fellow Alexa Eisenberg, has found that eviction rates in Detroit are on track to return to pre-pandemic levels.

“The policy changes early in the pandemic showed us evictions are preventable but inevitable within a system that prioritizes landlords’ investment interests over tenants’ health and human right to shelter," noted Eisenberg.
